The book begins by taking a look at the overall design of the enterprise application and then moves on to show how the enterprise can be accessed from desktop and mobile applications, as well as over the web using ASP.NET. Web Services also play a big part by exposing the functionality of the underlying business objects, as well as being used for authentication amongst other things. Of course, security is discussed where particular issues arise, as well as being covered in more depth in its own chapter.
